Remote Hands vs Smart Hands in Swiss colo

Same cage. Different ticket depth. Write the one your MOP actually needs.

In Swiss colo, “Remote Hands” usually means a light, escorted or unescorted task: a loop, a photograph, a reseat, a courier meet. “Smart Hands” usually means a longer method of procedure — rack work, FRU swap, dress, labelling — while your NOC stays on the bridge.

When Remote Hands is enough

  • Visual check and photos
  • Console cable or loopback
  • Power cycle with clear instructions
  • Media or drive handoff at the dock

When you need Smart Hands

  • Rack & stack or rail kits
  • Line-card or disk FRU with verification
  • Cross-connect dress and as-builts
  • Multi-step change under a formal MOP

Switzerland-specific

Access lists and visitor windows are non-negotiable in Zurich and Geneva. Language at reception may be German or French even when the bridge is English. Start from our Smart Hands service or the buyer guide.
