nFADP on a field ticket
On-site work creates personal data: names on access lists, sometimes faces in photos. Here is how a UK company should treat that in Switzerland.
The revised Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) applies to personal data processed in Switzerland. Simaks remains a UK controller under UK GDPR. When we handle visitor names or images from a Swiss site, we treat both regimes as in scope. The legal text for our site is the privacy notice.
What usually appears on a ticket
- Engineer and escort names
- ID type shown at the badge desk
- Photos of racks that may include badges or people in the aisle
- Email threads that identify your staff
What we ask you to decide
Say whether photos may include faces, how long evidence should be kept, and who may receive the close pack. If you need data to stay on Swiss systems only, write that in the ticket — do not assume it from the website.
What we will not do
We will not invent a Swiss data-residency product or a fake CH entity to “solve” nFADP. The controller is SIMAKS IT SOLUTION LTD. If that is a blocker for your procurement, say so early.
